Coronation Street fans had a good chuckle last night, when it appeared the soap brought back Mike Baldwin from the dead.

During Wednesday's episode (February 15), Todd Grimshaw - played by Bruno Langley - seemed to think Adam Barlow's (Sam Robertson) dad was still alive while talking at the Rovers Return.

Todd and Adam were having a hush-hush chat about selling a stash of cocaine, but Todd was keen to keep it a secret from Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).

"Billy's in the toilet," he said. "I'd rather he didn't know about this."

Adam left as Billy returned, leading Billy to ask Todd what Adam was doing.

"Looking for his dad," Todd replied.

Of course, Adam's dad Mike died of Alzheimer's disease in 2006. Todd was first seen on the ITV soap in 2001, so it stands to reason that he would have known about Mike's death.

The dialogue could have been a script error, but it's also just as likely that Todd was just being a bad liar - desperately trying to think of an excuse on the spot so that Billy wouldn't cotton onto his scheme.

Nevertheless, Twitter users had fun with Mike's resurrection.

"Adam's looking for his Dad in the Rovers, he'd do well to look for a clairvoyant first as he died years ago. LOL," said one tweeter.
