Corrie fans get a first look at Liz's new romance

Coronation Street newcomer Louis Emerick has shared a first look at his new on-screen romance storyline with Liz McDonald.

The former Brookside actor has joined the soap's cast for a stint as new arrival Mike Thornberry, who'll be Liz's next love interest.

Although viewers still have a few weeks to wait before Mike makes his Weatherfield debut, Louis is helping to build everyone's anticipation via his Twitter account in the meantime.

Louis has shared a picture of himself and Beverley Callard – who plays Liz – posing outside the Rovers Return, giving us a sneak peek at the show's next couple.
