Corrie passion twist for Carla and Daniel next week

Coronation Street is kicking off the surprise new romance between Carla Connor and Daniel Osbourne next week – and it'll certainly be raising a few eyebrows.

Rob Mallard recently confirmed the rumours that his character Daniel will have a shock fling with Carla, following reports that they'd be getting passionate this year.

A huge week for Carla will kick off when she suffers a devastating collapse in the street as her health continues to deteriorate.

When Carla is rushed to hospital, the doctors tell her she needs a transplant as soon as possible – meaning that she now has no other option than to break the news to her family.

With her friend Roy Cropper already aware that he isn't a match, Carla faces a difficult wait as her siblings Aidan and Kate undergo tests to see if they could be potential donors.

Bored and anxious, Carla soon turns her attentions to Daniel when she hears that Sinead has rejected his attempts at a reconciliation.

Having invited herself round to his flat, Daniel gets more than he bargained for when a flirtatious Carla quickly turns on the charm. However, the pair are unaware that Peter has seen Carla turn up at Daniel's and is secretly seething with jealousy.

Peter isn't the only one left unsettled by Carla and Daniel's fling as Sinead is also left devastated when she realises that she's missed her chance with him.

After heading round to Daniel's to tell him she wants them to try again, Sinead is stunned to see him kissing Carla on the doorstep and immediately relays the news to Beth.

Not one to keep quiet, Beth wastes no time in outing Carla and Daniel's passion in The Rovers – while a shocked Peter is forced to hide his growing envy. But why is Peter so jealous? And should Toyah be worried?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, February 2 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
