Do these Corrie pictures hint at Phelan's next victim?

Coronation Street's Pat Phelan could be eyeing up his next victim in these brand new pap pictures that show him coming face to face with Summer's grandmother Geraldine Spellman this Christmas.

The ITV soap will kick off an explosive few episodes for Phelan tonight (October 23) as he meets with his old partner-in-crime Vinny Ashford for the first time in a year.

The dramatic scenes will pave the way for Phelan's darkest week yet, which will also see him frame Anna Windass for attempted murder, turn on his own daughter Nicola Rubinstein, and take a second hostage in his dingy cellar – where Andy Carver is currently being held captive.

However, it looks like Phelan's evil behaviour will show no signs of slowing down as we head into the festive season – with recent pap pictures showing his wife Eileen sporting an injured eye at a carol concert.

More spoilery snaps have now been taken at the Christmas singsong, but this time they show Phelan spotting Summer's homophobic grandmother Geraldine.

Phelan (Connor McIntyre) will play the perfect family man when he and Eileen bump into Geraldine at the service, but it's never that straightforward where the sinister builder is concerned.

Fans will recall the nasty feud between Geraldine and Eileen's son Todd when she became hellbent on stopping him and his partner Billy Mayhew from adopting her granddaughter.

Summer ultimately made the decision to live with the Weatherfield couple despite Geraldine's views, but could her future be thrown up in the air again when Billy's dark backstory is unveiled?

And could Geraldine be the next person to see Phelan's evil side if she does become a problem for Todd and Billy again?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
