Yahoo News Corrie reveals Carla mystery – is she pregnant?
Coronation Street's Carla Connor will set tongues wagging by sticking to soft drinks when she returns to the cobbles.
Carla will arrive back on our screens in the run-up to Christmas and Corrie bosses have confirmed that she'll be hiding a huge secret.
When Carla heads back to the Street to spend the festive season with her family, she enjoys catching up with everyone, but sparks some confusion when she refuses to toast the happy occasion with alcohol.
When this becomes a repeated occurrence for Carla over the holidays, speculation naturally begins over why she's not knocking back the wine like she usually would be.
The mystery takes another twist when Roy Cropper (David Neilson) returns from a holiday in the Lake District earlier than planned, wanting to see Carla after hearing that she's back in town.
It's clear that Carla has already been confiding in Roy way before her return to the Street, as she begs him to keep her secret now that she's back.
Although loyal friend Roy is respecting Carla's wishes, his mood sours on New Year's Eve when he thinks he spots her drinking at the Bistro.
Roy is horrified by Carla's behaviour, but she's quick to assure him that she was only drinking lemonade rather than alcohol.
Mortified by his mistake, Roy begs Carla to move in with him rather than returning to Devon. But what does Roy know about Carla? Is she pregnant, or is there another reason that she's off the booze?
Coronation Street airs Alison King's first scenes back as Carla on Friday, December 22 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
