Coronation Street villain Rick Neelan plans to get rid of Gary Windass forever in dark scenes tonight (June 17).

Rick (Greg Wood) seizes an opportunity when Gary jumps to conclusions, wrongly suspecting him of kidnapping Sarah Platt.

Monday's Corrie double bill sees Sarah sneak off to spend time at a hotel with her secret boyfriend Adam Barlow.

The Street's newest couple are both free agents, but are keeping their romance under wraps for now to avoid upsetting Gary.

When Gary becomes suspicious over Sarah's mysterious disappearing act, he gets the wrong idea and accuses Rick of taking her.

Although Rick has no idea what the panicking builder is talking about, he plays along and warns Gary that he'll never see Sarah again unless he cooperates.

Rick gives Gary some location details and demands a meeting. Not long afterwards, Gary finds himself in woodland looking at a shallow grave that Rick has dug for him.

With a terrifying showdown ahead, can Gary gain the upper hand?

Mikey North, who plays Gary, recently explained: "Rick is clever. Gary goes looking for Sarah, as she has gone missing and he is led to believe she was seen leaving with Rick.

"This gives Rick the chance to pretend he has Sarah and get Gary to meet him in the woodland if he ever wants to see Sarah again."

Asked how Gary reacts when he realises Rick's intentions, Mikey replied: "He feels instant panic. There is a grave there that has been pre-dug, obviously for Gary, and probably Sarah, he thinks at that point. He comes to the realisation things aren't looking good.

"It's been inevitable that things would go too far one day. Gary has been up against some difficult situations, especially with the responsibility of the factory collapse. Being faced up against Rick, things don't look too promising for him."

Coronation Street airs these scenes tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
