The X Factor winner was a hit with viewers when she featured as a guest host on the daytime TV show earlier this year, and now she has her eye on the seat left vacant by veteran Sherrie, who quit to focus on acting projects.

“I like going on there with Coleen [Nolan] and all that lot,” she told the Daily Star. “I would love to do it a lot more.”

Sam, 39 – who occasionally appears on the panel for Rylan Clark-Neal’s Big Brother spin-off show – went on to admit that she isn’t particularly experienced when it comes to live TV presenting.

“They have a little more experience than me,” she said of the current Loose Women panelists. “When I go on it is a bit like going to school and learning the ropes from people who are professional.”

The mother-of-three – who previously opened up about her struggle with gender identity – revealed that she isn’t afraid to get candid about her life on the ITV show, which features hot topical debates and celebrity chats.

She explained: “It does not bother me being on TV. I always tell the truth and I will always be open and honest.”

This comes after Sherrie, 65, announced her decision to leave the Loose Women panel live on air, in front of her emotional co-hosts Andrea McLean, Vicky Pattison and Coleen Nolan.

She tearfully explained: “I’m going to be leaving Loose Women because it’s kind of time, I’ve said everything there is. I’m leaving this seat so somebody else now can sit on this seat for 14 years and tell all their stories.”
