Tom Welling might have been one of the original Clark Kents, but the Smallville actor hasn't shown any interest in reprising his role. Until now, that is.

Tom played Clark on his journey to becoming the Superman in Smallville until 2011, but now we might be seeing Tom as the Man of Steel elsewhere.

According to Nuke the Fridge, Tom has admitted that while he wasn't so keen on hitting up Supergirl, he would be into joining its CW partner-in-vigilantism The Flash.

"I am willing to go on The Flash and I have a few ideas on how it can happen if the network asks me," he teased. "In fact, I think I can make it happen."

God bless The Flash and its multiverse, is all we can say.

This isn't the first time Tom has been approached to return to DC TV – the actor recently implied he'd been offered a spot on Supergirl but turned the opportunity down.

Admitting there had been "some discussion" with producer Greg Berlanti, Tom explained why a reprisal of Clark "or even Superman" wouldn't work due to the shows' 'different tones'.

"I'm older now, I don't look the same. Appearing on that show as Clark Kent or even Superman, for me, I would not want to watch me do that at all," he said.

Tom hasn't completely closed the door on DC, though, as he can be caught in the upcoming season of Lucifer, which airs on Fox in the US, and will hit Amazon Prime in the UK soon.
