A NEW unique plant store has opened its doors to residents in Dorset

Southbourne Planthouse offers houseplants, accessories, gifts and more.

Owners Scott and Jodie opened Planthouse earlier this month.

The couple met while working on a weekly gardening magazine which ‘sowed’ the seed for their relationship and growing business venture.

Speaking about the new store, Scott said: “We’ve lived in Southbourne for over 20 years, and raised our 3 kids here, and now they’re pretty much all grown up, we wanted a new challenge.

“We’ve always loved greenery, plants, and interiors, and what better way to share that enthusiasm than opening a shop?

“The reaction from customers in the shop daily from when we opened last week, and also social media, has been overwhelmingly positive, we’re so humbled and thrilled.

“Having people walk past, stop in their tracks as they see in the windows and excitedly exclaim “Oh wow a plant shop!” Always makes us smile, don’t stop.”

Scott also mentioned that there’s ‘not really anything like Planthouse’ in Southbourne, he added: “The high street has been growing at a pace the last few years and while there are fantastic coffee shops, restaurants, and bars, we felt that there was a little bit more retail therapy needed to counterbalance that.”

Southbourne Planthouse is on Seabourne Road, Southbourne.
