Coventry City add another high profile pre-season fixture as Premier League side set to visit CBS Arena

Coventry City have added another big name to their pre-season schedule with the announcement that Premier League Everton will travel to the CBS Arena next month.

The Sky Blues will take on the Toffees on home soil on Tuesday, July 30, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm in a pre-season fixture between the two sides for the first time since 2009, when they drew 2-2.

The club says that the fixture will “form a key part of City’s preparations for the new season,” as they gear up for the beginning of the 2024/25 Championship campaign.

The clash against the Sean Dyche’s men is City’s third pre-season fixture confirmed, having announced matches against SV Darmstadt 98 and Werder Bremen last week.

City will face a trip to Germany to play SV Darmstadt 98 on Saturday, July 27, at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor, Darmstadt. Darmstadt 98 played in the German Bundesliga last campagin, finishing 18th, having been promoted to the German top division the year before. Darmstadt is a city in the state of Hesse in Germany, located in the southern part of the Rhine-Main-Area.

City will also host SV Werder Bremen in another high-profile friendly match against the four-time German Bundesliga champions, which will be played on Saturday, August 3.

It will be a 3pm kick-off at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the fixture coming one week ahead of the eagerly anticipated start of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
