Coventry police seize £20k of illegal vapes in shops swoop
Police seized £20,000-worth of illegal vapes and cigarettes during a swoop on shops across the city. The huge haul could barely fit in a riot van following the day of action.
The St Michael's Neighbouring Team joined forces with Coventry Trading Standards as part of a sting, code-named 'Operation Chino', which is aimed at tackling issues within the community.
It follows tip-offs from locals. "Disrupting the sale of counterfeit and illegal goods is something our teams do on a regular basis across Coventry," the team said.

They added: "We work closely with Trading Standards and act on the intel you provide us." But 'Op Chino' did not just see illegal vapes and cigarettes seized.
The team also made a number of arrests. This included:
One man on suspicion of burglary
One young person on suspicion of two robbery offences
One woman for breaching a community order
One man for failing to attend court
They were all taken into custody for questioning.
