Craig Revel Horwood says Len Goodman will beg to come back to Strictly

If last night’s big farewell to Strictly head judge Len Goodman left you a trembling wreck, here’s a little bit of good news.

Fellow judge Craig Revel-Horwood reckons his old boss will miss the show so much he’ll be BEGGING to come back after just a year away from the show.

“He’ll be at home, burning with desire to return soon,” laughed Craig. “He won’t be able to stand seeing someone else in his seat.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if, after next year, he wants to come back. He’ll say, ‘No, no, no. I want to play golf. I don’t to do that’.

“Then he says, ‘Oh, OK. I’ll do one weekend’. Then it turns into the whole run.”

“He likes working,” acid-tongued Craig continued. “He’s still doing Dancing With The Stars, although it’ll be more relaxed because him and his wife won’t be coming back for Strictly. They can make a holiday of it. He’s still got lots of other projects.”

And while 51-year-old Craig isn’t one to get all teary eyed at the drop of a hat, he admitted he came close to blubbing during a tribute segment to Len that aired on the show last week.

“I could feel myself getting emotional,” he said. “It suddenly hit me how long we’ve been together. Now in 53 countries there are Len Goodman types all emulating him on versions of the show.

“I’m the villain offset by the jovial joker, Bruno, and Len has been the man of authority, the cheeky chappie who has always kept things upbeat and doesn’t like to score anyone under a ‘Severnnnnn!.”

Excuse us, we seem to have something in our eyes.
