Craig Revel Horwood thinks Seann Walsh 'kiss scandal' helped 'Strictly' couple out

Craig Revel Horwood has said that the ‘kissing scandal’ that engulfed contestant Seann Walsh and his professional dance partner Katya Jones helped rather than hindered their chances.

Stand-up comedian Walsh was snapped kissing Katya following a boozy night out, despite him being in a long-term relationship.

Katya is also married, to Strictly professional dancer and choreographer Neil Jones.

Revel Horwood told the Radio Times: “There have been a lot of headlines this series, but it hasn’t detracted from the dancing.

“I just think there’s either a lack of news, darling, or people are so loving the show they can’t get enough of it!

“Seann Walsh came back after that week with flying colours, and it probably helped push him a bit harder.

“Like any professional, you have to leave whatever’s going on behind that door and just perform.”

Seann and Katya bowed out of the series in week six, following their dance for the Halloween special.

They apologised for the clinch on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two the week after the tabloid exposé.

“We made a huge mistake and I regret it deeply,” said Seann, though he was later dumped by his girlfriend of five years, writer Rebecca Humphries.

Humphries has since penned an essay for Vogue magazine in which she’s explained how kind people were following the break up.

“It has been the most dynamic electric storm of kindness you could ever hope to experience..Being kind has had a revamp for 2018. It’s fierce, funny, vibrant, in your face, all singing, all dancing,” she wrote.
