Crysencio Summerville has done something at Leeds United that has not been achieved in 25 years

Thirty goal contributions in a season. It is impossible to fault Crysencio Summerville's attacking output in Leeds United's promotion tilt.

It has been the best year of Summerville's fledgling football career. He has lit up the Championship, terrorising defences with his skill and pace. His end product has improved immeasurably in the final third.

The Dutchman is the first Whites player to both score 20 goals and provide 10 assists in a season across all competitions since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in 1998/99 (20 goals, 16 assists). He has been a model of consistency.

Summerville played an integral role in United's superb fightback at Middlesbrough, scoring a brace either side of half-time and creating Wilfried Gnonto's controversial goal. After another dazzling performance in front of the cameras, Summerville deservedly walked away with the man of the match award.

"Cree is maturing from week to week and has shown good consistency," admitted Whites manager Daniel Farke. "I don't like to speak about a player after one good month or a few good games and label them a quality player. You are a quality player if you show this consistency, especially when you don't just shine yourself and you make your teammates and team shine as well. This is what a quality players does and is what he has shown more and more from week to week.

"We are all pretty happy that we have him."

But how long will the Whites have him for? A host of Premier League and European clubs are understood to tracking Summerville ahead of the summer transfer window. Whatever happens in the final two matches, United face a job on their hands to keep hold of their prized asset.

Promotion back to the Premier League would significantly increase the likelihood of Summerville staying put. He has spoken of his desire to test himself at the highest level. A strong end to the campaign would see Summerville etch his name into Leeds folklore and help him achieve his career goal.
