Watch: The cast of Daisy Jones and The Six discuss how it compares to the book
Daisy Jones and The Six star Josh Whitehouse has promised the upcoming series is going to transcend the best-selling book.
The original novel, written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, has become a cult phenomenon in its own right, and now fans will finally see the characters — and the music — come to life with the launch of the Prime Video series.
Whitehouse, who plays bass player Eddie, has praised the show for how they were able to remain faithful to the book, and how they worked to keep things as accurate as possible.

Speaking to Yahoo UK, Whitehouse explained: "They developed a fantastic cast, I feel very lucky to have been working with everybody that was on board on this, and I think that the human-ness of seeing the characters really come to life on screen.
"Seeing things that don't happen in the book or that you don't necessarily get... You know a lot of it's left to imagination because they're recalling events, and so I think there's just so much extra that comes with the show, and being able to really see those moments that they're all talking about that you just wouldn't get otherwise from the book."
Daisy Jones and The Six opens with a take on the format of a 90s Behind The Music-style documentary, as the former band members getting interviewed one-by-one.

We're told the band, which broke up after a sell-out stadium concert in 1979, have never spoken about why they decided to split so suddenly until these interviews, and doing so delves into the inner workings of the band.
Eddie Roundtree, the character Whitehouse plays, is a founding member of the group alongside brothers Billy (Sam Claflin) and Graham (Will Harrison) Dunne. They later add Warren (Sebastian Chacon) and Karen (Suki Waterhouse).
But it's when Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) is added by music producer Teddy that they're sent into the stratosphere.

While Eddie embraces the life of a rockstar, he finds himself at odds at not being centre stage, being relegated to the sidelines to appease demanding frontman Billy.
Speaking about the character, Whitehouse reveals he took inspiration for the character from an unlikely source.
"I tried not to be too heavy-handed with it, but I really enjoyed playing with that idea," Whitehouse explains.
"Eddie was described to me in the character brief as 'the bass player with a chip on his shoulder', which I felt like that wasn't very deep, and I kind of wanted to find reasons as to why that might have come about."
"I felt like I took a mixture of imagining being Scar from Lion King, trying to steal the kingdom," he added.
"He's kind of like rallying the troops trying to kind of get them to all come with him deep down, but convincing the King that he's not doing that, which I thought was like a really funny way of looking at it."
Daisy Jones and The Six launches on Friday, 3 March, with new episodes every week through to 24 March on Prime Video. Watch a trailer below.
