Martin Compston is set to return in a second series of Prime Video's supernatural thriller The Rig.
The Line Of Duty star is amongst the lead cast of the series set aboard a Scottish oil rig engulfed by a strange cloud, which kicked off a series of terrifying events in season one.
Now, streaming service Prime Video has confirmed that its original series will get a comeback, with filming due to begin in Edinburgh later this year.
Compston will be joined by returning co-stars Game of Thrones star Iain Glen and Schitt's Creek's Emily Hampshire.
Other cast members coming back for season two include Rochenda Sandall (Line Of Duty) and Game of Thrones actors Owen Teale and Mark Addy, as well as Molly Vevers, Abraham Popoola and Stuart McQuarrie.
In season two, helicopters have taken the surviving crew of the Kinloch Bravo rig to a new location, where dangers await them.
The crew will have to deal with the emotional and physical fallout of season one and contend with swirling conspiracies, conflicts and threats from the dark depths of the world’s oceans.
Dan Grabiner, head of originals UK & Northern Europe at Prime Video, said: "The Rig’s popularity around the world is a testament to the fantastic ensemble cast and the vision of the creators—the crew behind the crew.
"We can’t wait to welcome back Iain, Martin, and Emily, and see what writer and creator David Macpherson has in store for the Kinloch Bravo team next."
Writer and creator David Macpherson added: "It was always my aim to build a story that starts in Scotland but speaks to a global audience about global themes. In series two, I'm looking forward to expanding the world of our show through the eyes of our excellent cast, as we deliver more shocks and thrills and delve deeper into both our characters’ and our show's expanding original mythology."
The Rig season one is streaming on Prime Video.
