Dakota Johnson Embraces Sheer and Lace Details in Delicate Gucci Dress for ‘Daddio’ Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2024
Dakota Johnson favored the sheer trend while attending the red carpet premiere of her film “Daddio” at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival on Monday in New York City. The actress joined members of the cast and creative team for the event.
For the premiere of her film, Johnson opted for a selection from Gucci’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. The sheer, indigo blue slip-style midi dress featured ornate lace detailing on the bodice and thin straps.

The actress’ hair was styled by Mark Townsend, who favored Johnson’s natural chocolate waves with fringe to frame her face. Johnson’s makeup by Georgie Eisdell featured a smokey eye and soft lip. Her entire look was curated by stylist Kate Young, who’s collaborate with Julianne Moore, Nina Dobrev and Michelle Williams.
Johnson’s Gucci frock made its runway debut during Milan Fashion Week last February. The fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection, designed by creative director Sabato De Sarno, featured pops of color, tailored attire and lingerie-inspired looks.
The collection marked De Sarno’s second women’s collection with Gucci. He was named the Italian luxury fashion house’s creative director in January 2023.
Gucci’s creative director discussed his fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection with WWD last February, particularly emphasizing the use of color in the collection. “Colors I love are red, gray [and] blue. Colors I hate are cream, brown and strange fluorescents that are difficult to wear. This collection you find all these together in combinations that I like.”

Still trying new things while maintaining Gucci’s classic appeal, De Sarno had a refreshing perspective on his time ahead with the luxury fashion house. “This is the most incredible experience of my life. If it finished tomorrow morning, it’s OK. Because my life is more interesting than my job.”
“Daddio” stars Johnson and Sean Penn. The film follows a young woman taking a Taxi to JFK airport. A conversation ensues between the two over the relationships in their lives. The film hits theaters June 27.
