“Well, I’ll just hold it," the actress said, gripping onto her broken dress strap.

Not even a wardrobe malfunction can shake Dakota Johnson

The actress was in the middle of promoting her new film Daddio on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday when the sole strap that was holding her black midi dress together somehow broke. The incident occurred during a trailer break, with the cameras cutting back to find Johnson holding the strap with both hands.

“That is Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn in Daddio. The front of your dress just came unhooked,” host Jimmy Kimmel said as they both began to laugh. “Are you alright? Should I get some Scotch tape?”

But Johnson remained calm and collected. “My dress just, it just fell off,” she said as she held up the strap, which had her microphone for the interview pinned next to it, and tried to piece it back together before giving up. “Well, I’ll just hold it.”

Kimmel then pivoted to ask about the film, which takes place entirely in a taxi cab as Penn’s character Clark drives Johnson's Girlie from JFK back to her Manhattan apartment.

“Yeah,” a distracted Johnson replied as she tried to keep her microphone in place. She then placed both hands on her chest and flashed an awkward smile before the pair burst out laughing again. “The movie is really good.”

Johnson held onto the side of her dress for the remainder of their conversation, frequently reaching up to try and re-adjust the broken strap if it appeared to slip off her shoulder.

At another moment, she paused when the front of the dress began to pull forward. “Sorry, geez,” she said, fixing the issue as Kimmel laughed.
