The Dancing On Ice couples have been giving fans a taster of what to expect at curtain up in Sunday's Musicals Week show.

A sneak peek at the training rink features Brendan Cole skating with his stand-in partner Brendyn Hatfield, Regan Gascoigne polishing up some precise moves, and Bez managing a jump on the ice - while still sporting his crash helmet.

Sunday's show will see the pairs skate routines inspired by hit musicals and it certainly looks as though everyone is taking their roles this week seriously.

Cole's usual partner Vanessa Bauer has been ruled out of the show after testing positive for COVID, meaning that the former Strictly Come Dancing pro will skate in an all-male couple this week with Hatfield.

They are due to perform a Jersey Boys-themed routine and seem to have clicked easily as a clip shared on Twitter shows them gliding around the rink together.

Meanwhile, Bez might still be skating wearing a safety helmet, but he's clearly been putting in the hours as he manages to jump off - and land on - both feet on the ice.

He will perform a skate based on the Meat Loaf musical Bat Out of Hell, sure to be a poignant moment after the singer's death earlier this year.

Gascoigne, one of the strongest contestants in the show, puts his dance skills to good use again, while Kye Whyte looks cautious as he performs a series of jumps.

Sally Dynevor and Stef Reid both clearly have some spectacular moves lined up as they're spun around in lifts by their partners.

Kimberly Wyatt and Connor Ball both look confident too as they skate backwards at speed.

Cole and Hatfield are rumoured to be taking on the show's riskiest move, the headbanger, this week as a photo from training yesterday showed Cole spinning his new partner around by his ankles just inches from the ice.

Olympian Whyte is coming back this week from the skate off after being chosen to stay over Liberty Poole, who was voted out last Sunday.

Dancing On Ice Musicals Week airs on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
