What Did You Miss?

Dancing on Ice just crowned Ryan Thomas as this year's champion live on ITV.

Partnered with pro ice skater Amani Fancy, the former Coronation Street actor has the voting public to thank for this amazing honour as of course the power was taken out of the judges' hands on Sunday. Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Ashley Banjo and Motsi Mabuse did put together some scores after the performances, but these merely worked as ego-boosters for the contestants.

Having given everything in the grand finale, it was Made in Chelsea's Miles Nazaire who ended up in second place while BBC Radio 1's Adele Roberts ran out as third. Greg Rutherford was in the original final four, but pulled out after sustaining a terrible injury in training.

What, how and why?

In his first routine of the evening, Ryan received a unanimous score of 40 from the panel - with Motsi declaring it to have been his "greatest" skate of the series so far. Adele fared equally but Miles squandered another perfect grade by falling on the ice. He still managed a solid 38.

Then came the first voting stage, which saw Adele and her partner Mark Hanretty booted out of the competition immediately and sent the two lads and their pros through to the Bolero dance. Between the Boleros and result announcement, icons of the ice Christopher and Jayne treated the studio audience and those watching at home to a special piece, too.

Handed the microphone by Holly Willoughby, a "speechless" Ryan paid tribute to Amani's "hard work" before dedicating his Dancing on Ice victory to Greg. "This trophy's for you mate! Yes!" he shouted.

"I'm just so proud of you, thank you for making this happen!" shared Amani through tears.
