Dani Dyer has hit back at claims she is chasing "money and fame" following her alleged split from Jack Fincham.

The Love Island winner, 22, responded to critical comments she has received on social media since confirming that she and Fincham, 27, have broken up. Replying to a message left underneath a selfie with her mother Joanne Mas, Dyer revealed that she has been left "upset" and "disgusted" by the backlash.

“Right I’m sick to death of seeing posts on how I want money and fame?” she wrote. “Wtf is everyone talking about. Money and fame?!

“Do you really think I’m that tiny minded to just want that. People upset me and disgust me so so much on how they can judge me by a newspaper. Just p*** off and be kind to people.”

Her comments came shortly after Fincham was overheard telling friends that his girlfriend had called time on the relationship in a bid for “publicity.” He went on to joke his sense of humour was responsible for the pair’s win, adding: “I won that show not her, I was the funniest one on it!”

Dyer, who has since disabled comments on the Instagram post, announced on Thursday that she and Fincham had decided to split up, posting a statement which read: “Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways.

“It’s been an incredible six months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term.

“We both plan to stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand.”

However, the pair sparked hopes of a reconciliation when they shared friendly messages on Instagram shortly after confirming the split.

Commenting under a picture of Dyer’s grandmother, Fincham replied: “Here she is.” Dyer quickly posted a heart emoji alongside the warm reply: “She loves ya.”
