Love Island star Dani Dyer has revealed she has to have surgery to remove a coil that has gone "missing" in her body. She joked she could have ended up with a fourth child after the contraceptive device "completely dislodged and moved".

The daughter of former EastEnders star Danny Dyer said the "rare" occurrence was flagged during a check up. Dani, 27, shared details of the incident with her 3.8 million Instagram followers and said "I just can't believe what has happened."

The reality star said: "So long story cut short because I do like to ramble. I had to have a couple of appointments today for a nurse to check my Mirena coil. I've not really been getting on with it and I thought let's just go and get it checked and see what's going on."

She continued: "It's gone missing. It's completely dislodged and moved. He said what's happened is so rare, so I don't want to scare anyone, but I've got to have key hole surgery because of where it is embedded. It's nothing major but I just can't believe what has happened."

Dani, who shares twin girls Summer and Star with her West Ham defender partner, Jarrod Bowen, and also has a three-year-old son, Santiago, with ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence, added: "Imagine, I could have ended up with a fourth child this year."

The Mirena coil is used as a method of contraception, the Mirror reports. It is also used to treat heavy periods and to protect the womb during menopause.
