Coronation Street's Bobby star Jack Carroll shows off new look after addressing keeping 'secret'

Coronation Street star Jack Carroll quipped that he may end up having to get his ID out as he showed off his new look. Fans of the ITV soap will now know the actor and comedian for playing Bobby, the nephew of Weatherfield favourite Carla Connor, having joined the show at the end of 2023.

Bobby is the son of Carla’s brother Rob Donovan. Rob is serving life in prison for the murder of Tina McIntyre and was unaware he had a son until recently, but hadn’t managed to let Carla know. He's since made himself quite at home at Carla's while also landing a job at Underworld.

But he may have done more damage than good as, despite his initial suspicion of Roy Cropper, Bobby has tried to help the beloved cafe owner after seeing his aunt's concern for her friend who was charged with the murder of Lauren Bolton following her sudden disappearance.

With Bobby the first to file a missing persons report back in February after finding her flat eerily empty, Bobby lied to the police about seeing a man leaving Lauren's flat - and it wasn't Roy. Carla has since discovered and gone along with her nephew's lie to try and help Roy and protect Bobby.

But soon, it appears Corrie fans may be seeing Bobby looking a bit different as following a recent break to Rome, Jack has decided to brave the shave and has gotten rid of his growing facial hair.

Sharing a snap of himself to his Instagram Story showing her clean-shaven appearance, the former Britain's Got Talent finalist said: "What's the reckoning I get ID'd today?" before sharing a before snap "for comparison".

In comes after Jack spoke about what it's like being part of Corrie's biggest storyline of the moment shortly after his arrival on the cobbles. "The buzz surrounding Lauren’s murder investigation and Roy’s campaign has so far been amazing!" he told Inside Soap.

"I started hearing rumblings about the story on about my third week of being here. It was great in terms of getting to grips with how the show worked, as I didn’t really have time to think about it. It helped me relax and see off any early nerves and jitters!"

But when asked how he is at keeping secrets and how he's been getting on keeping tight-lipped over the storyline, Jack added to the publication: "If I’m in a pub, even before they’ve poured my drink, they’re asking me what’s happened to Lauren! My standard answer is that you’ll have to keep watching, which is probably quite boring, but I don’t want the story to be spoiled!"
