Danielle Lloyd confirms pregnancy - and vows to keep trying for girl if it's not

Danielle Lloyd has confirmed she is pregnant - but vowed she will keep trying if it is not a girl.

The 37-year-old former Celebrity Big Brother star found out she expecting another baby with her electrician husband Michael O’Neill in March, and admitted she is desperate to have a daughter.

Lloyd told Closer: "I can’t wait to become a family of seven. I know there’s a risk it’ll be another boy though – having five boys would be totally mad!

"But, of course, the main thing I want is for the baby to be healthy. And if it’s not a girl – we’ll just try again after!"

The ex-wife of footballer Jamie O’Hara has a four-year-old son Ronnie with husband O'Neill, as well as sons Archie, 11, Harry, 10, and George, eight, with O’Hara.

Harry was born premature at just 29 weeks and spent the first seven weeks of his life in intensive care on a life support machine.

In 2018 Lloyd revealed she and O'Neill had visited IVF clinics in Dubai as they hoped to have gender selective IVF, which is not legal in the UK, as they dreamed of having a daughter.

But Lloyd revealed that die to lockdown restrictions she and O'Neill had decided to conceive a child naturally, although she had tried everything to ensure it is a girl - from tracking her ovulation to visiting a psychic.

The model explained her desire to be mother to a girl was so strong because she wanted to experience the same close bond she felt with her own bother.

She said: "People think I only want a girl so I can dress her up, but that's not the case.

"I want a girl because of the amazing relationship I have with my mum. I can't imagine going through life and not having that with a daughter. Plus, my boys are amazing, but they're going to leave me when they get girlfriends, aren't they?"

In 2019 Lloyd shared her heartbreak after suffering a miscarriage.

The former Miss Great Britain posted on Instagram: "I may have held you in my womb for a moment, but I will hold you in my heart forever.”

Lloyd and O'Neill became engaged on St Valentine's Day 2016 and married in April 2019.
