It was always stated as only a short break away from set, and it seems Danny Dyer will be returning to EastEnders for filming next week.
Last month, Digital Spy reported that the actor was merely weeks away from returning to his role as Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, and that time may have finally come.
The Sun reports Danny will return to set on Monday (March 27), after several weeks away spent recharging his batteries.
Back in February, it was announced that Dyer would be taking a short break from his role in EastEnders.
The 39-year old is thought to have flown out to South Africa for some time off, before returning to the UK last week.
Now, it's being reported the actor has picked up his scripts and will be returning to filming on Monday, although the BBC declined to comment on these reports when asked by Digital Spy.
Dyer had a demanding filming schedule in the months leading up to his break, with his character Mick involved in multiple storylines for the BBC One soap.
The Carters have been dealing with progressively worsening financial troubles with the Vic, while Mick was also involved in the Walford bus crash, before kissing his daughter in-law Whitney and sparking rumours of an affairs.
Since announcing his break, the actor has received support from former EastEnders stars Shaun 'Barry' Williamson and John Altman (aka 'Nasty Nick').
Speaking at the TRIC Awards last week, Altman admitted that working on set is "exhausting", and at times "very stressful", before comparing filming to "being on another planet."
EastEnders airs weekdays on BBC One.
