Danny Dyer has discussed whether EastEnders will kill off his character Mick Carter when he departs the soap later this year.

Dyer confirmed that he will be leaving EastEnders after a decade in January, a move which got fans speculating as to how he would depart the show.

In an interview with The Sun, Dyer discussed some of the ways he could leave EastEnders: "There's been a discussion about what we're gonna do. I might be killed off, I might not."

One thing Dyer does know is that he wants to leave in the biggest possible way: "I just want to go out in a huge, epic way. I don't want to be in the back of a cab, I don't want a heart attack because of high cholesterol. I want to go out and I want to get people talking about it. So, yeah, it's gonna be huge."

He also said he'd be looking to steal a prop from the set on his last day of work: "I might nick a stool out of the Vic. I have already got a stool up in my dressing room. I'll get the cast to sign it and I'll take it."

Dyer was also open about how much he'd loved his long tenure on the soap: "It's such an iconic job and I've loved every second of it. It's been amazing. It's been nearly ten years though, you know? It's time to move on now."

Dyer also recently confirmed that he was also leaving his BBC quiz show The Wall so that he could focus on his various other projects such as his upcoming Netflix show Cheat.

Before becoming known for his role in EastEnders, Dyer built up a cult following after appearing in a number of British crime movies such as The Football Factory, The Business and Dead Man Running.
