Danny Dyer Leads Tributes To Long-Running EastEnders Actor Michael Leader Following His Death

The EastEnders’ team have taken to Twitter to pay heartfelt tribute to actor Michael Leader, who sadly passed away earlier this week.

Michael has appeared in the hit BBC One soap since the very first episode playing Albert Square’s milkman and shared poignant scenes with ‘Enders legend Barbara Windsor as well as other popular stars of the show.

Writing on their website, EastEnders shared: “We were terribly saddened to hear that our dear friend and colleague Michael Leader passed away on Monday.

"Michael has been on the show since the very first episode and will be sorely missed by the EastEnders family, past and present.

"Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are extended to his nearest and dearest.”

Jonny Labey, who played Paul Coker in the soap, retweeted the message and added: “Such sad news! RIP to the kindest, most supportive man I’ve met. Xx”.

Khali Best, who played Dexter Hartman, wrote: “Lovely bloke. Always had time to have a chat with me and he always had a story about things I thought he wouldn’t know about.”

Danny Dyer, who plays Mick Carter, simply shared: “RIP Michael, my old son. RIP.”

Ted Reilly, who plays Johnny Carter, wrote: “Michael Leader was a man who made @bbceastenders more than a T.V. show. RIP to an Albert Square legend.”

Many other cast members retweeted EastEnders’ original tweet alongside those from their colleagues.
