Davina McCall admits to messaging Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson 'all the time'

It appears that even the stars aren’t exempt from having celebrity obsessions, with newly single Davina McCall admitting that she harbours a secret love for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, persistently messaging him on social media in the hope that he will notice her.

Ah, we’ve all been there.

Speaking on the podcast Is It Just Me? with former Glamour editor Jo Elvin, the TV presenter shared: “I think Dwayne Johnson is hardworking, gives more than is expected, funny… I want to meet him but in a sad, fan way. He’s so big, I’d have to climb up his thigh.

“I’m literally sending him messages all the time.

“I have a blue tick next to my name so I’m sort of thinking, ‘Do you think Dwayne Johnson is going to look at his tweets and go, ‘Oh hang on, there’s a blue tick from a British girl, I’m gonna click on her. And oh, she seems like a nice person, I’m going to answer her’?

Unfortunately for Davina, she confirmed that the star hasn’t replied to her so far, but she isn’t going to give up yet.

Still, the Hollywood actor is no doubt busy, announcing just last month that he is expecting his second child with his long-term girlfriend Lauren Hashian.

Davina has since taken to Twitter to deny that she fancies Dwayne, insisting that his partner has “nothing to worry about”.

In response to the story, she tweeted: “Funniest story of the year so far ! That I’m secretly messaging @TheRock because I’m newly single! He is v happily married ( I hope) I do think he is fab tho [sic]”.

Davina announced last year that she is splitting from her husband of 17 years, Matthew Robertson, saying in a statement: “I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated.

“Our amazing children are our number one priority, above everything else so therefore we ask for as much space and respect from the media as possible while our family goes through this difficult time.”

However, the pair are thought to be on good terms with Davina and Matthew reportedly seeing each other over the festive period for the sake of their three children, 16-year-old Holly, 14-year-old Tilly, and 11-year-old Chester.

A source previously claimed that the former couple are “still extremely good friends” and enjoy “lots of laughter and happiness” together.
