Davina McCall 'hated' her appearance when she was younger

Davina McCall has said she "hated" her appearance when she was younger, but now reckons she's "fierce".

The 53-year-old shared in a new interview with Good Housekeeping how she was previously "so critical" of what she saw in the mirror.

“When I was younger, I used to look in the mirror and I hated myself," she said.

"It’s weird because I was so slim and toned, and yet I was so critical.

“Now I have wrinkly skin on my tummy, I have a little varicose vein down one leg, I have flabby bits on my arms, and there’s nothing I can do about it – but I think I look fierce!

“I see the same thing happening with my girls, and I think ‘Don’t worry, you’ll love yourself in the end, you just have to get through this bit.’”

The former Big Brother presenter shares daughters Holly, 19, and Tilly, 17, and son Chester, 14, with ex-husband Matthew Robertson. The couple split in 2017.

McCall is currently in a relationship with hairdresser Michael Douglas, with the pair co-hosting the podcast Making The Cut.

She is also known for her commitment to fitness, which she regularly documents on her Instagram.

She said back in January that she initially was focused on working out in order to "look hot in a bikini" but that her priorities have changed.

“Previously, my ‘keeping fit and healthy’ was all about my body and making myself look hot in a bikini… and actually now it’s just about staying alive longer and being in the best possible position to beat anything should it come my way,” McCall said.
