Yahoo News DC's Flash movie is taking on 'Flashpoint' storyline
We have been confused of late as to what exactly is happening with DCEU's The Flash, especially when the only news we seem to get about the film involves director struggles and script rewrites.
However, today (June 22) at Comic-Con, we finally got our first bit of information about what to expect from the movie itself, and it looks we can expect the film to take on the popular 2011 'Flashpoint' storyline.
Yes, just like its unrelated TV show brother before it, Warner Bros appeared to confirm that The Flash (the movie version) will explore the popular arc with a sneaky graphic at their Comic-Con panel today as the screen showed the official The Flash movie logo morph into 'Flashpoint' instead.

Of course, we don't know yet whether "Flashpoint" will be the film's official title, even if it does seem pretty likely at this point, but the link to the storyline has certainly already piqued fans' interest.
The Flashpoint story sees Barry Allen/The Flash travel back in time to save his mother, though when he returns to the present, the world is a dramatically different, including the non-existence of the Justice League.
The original comics storyline was first published in 2011, and the altered timeline sees Cyborg as a main superhero instead of Superman, who is being held as a lab rat by the US government.
Additionally, Bruce Wayne's father is a version of Batman, as Bruce died instead of his dad in the new timeline.
It is unclear how much of the movie's storyline will be faithful to the original comics, though the move marks a big departure from the original plan for The Flash.
The movie currently does not have a director, with the likes of Robert Zemeckis rumoured to helm the project. Sam Raimi and Marc Webb have already counted themselves out.
Earlier this year it also emerged that the script was going through quite a few rewrites, and no-one even knew when the movie would begin shooting.
However, now that we have Flashpoint confirmed, it seems things are starting to move in the right direction.
And before that, we can always see Ezra Miller as the fastest man alive in the upcoming Justice League, which premiered a new trailer at Comic-Con too:
