The CW already has six DC Comics TV series on the air, but Project 13 might actually be lucky number seven.

The network is teaming with executive producer Elizabeth Banks on an adaptation of the mystical character Traci Thirteen, who made her first appearance in the pages of Superman back in 2003.

Traci Thirteen is forensic scientist with a fascination for the paranormal who discovers her own mystical powers while investigating a bizarre case with her father Dr. Terrance Thirteen.

In DC lore, she's frequently crossed over with other well-known heroes like Batman, Blue Beetle and The Flash's latest hero Ralph Dibny (aka the Elongated Man).

The character has previously been adapted for the animated movie Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, and has been tipped for the third season of Young Justice as well.

According to Variety, Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks has handed off writing dues on Project 13 to Daegan Fryklind - who previously produced Smallville star Laura Vandervoort's vampire drama series Bitten and the crime drama Motive.

It's not clear yet if Project 13 with have connections to the Greg Berlanti-produced interconnected DC shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow or Black Lightning.

The ArrowVerse also branches out to encompass The CW's animated webseries Vixen, Freedom Fighters: The Ray and Constantine. The CW airs the unconnected live-action project iZombie as well.

There is no casting information for Project 13 at this stage.
