Deadpool 2 has secret A-list cameo that everyone missed

*WARNING: SPOILERS FOR DEADPOOL 2*

Deadpool's wild box office success has made its sequel quite the temptation for Hollywood's biggest stars. Of course, there's one major A-list cameo that's fairly obvious to anyone who's actually seen the film.

Starring as X-Force member The Vanisher, Brad Pitt swooped in for a mere second appearance. Director David Leitch explained that the cameo came about as: “I think it was a love of Deadpool and sort of what that sort of global phenomenon that it was. And, his kids loved it.”

Star Ryan Reynolds even snuck in a cameo in his own film, slyly providing the voice for surprise villain Juggernaut, who we’d previously seen depicted by Vinnie Jones in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

However, there's another - far more secret - A-list cameo hiding out in the film: Matt Damon, as revealed by ScreenRant. The star appears alongside Alan Tudyk in a scene which depicts two men, credited as "Rednecks", engaged in deep conversation about the drawbacks of toilet paper.

"I have a toilet paper manifesto of my own, abut the inadequacy of toilet paper," writer Rhett Reese explained to the Radio Times about the origins of the cameo. "I do this bit about it, and I did it for Ryan. We all looked at each other and said, ‘This has to go into the movie somehow.’ Then we discussed what caliber actor would we need to do such a scene…"

“That was the one for me. But he’s not even listed in the credits,” Zazie Beetz, who plays Domino, added. “They don’t even give his real name and he’s in complete prosthetics.”

The credits, actually, name the character in question as being played by Dickie Greenleaf: the name of Jude Law's character in The Talented Mr. Ripley, and the identity Damon's character eventually steals off him.

Deadpool 2 is out now.
