Death in Paradise actor Tahj Miles has revealed his next role after leaving the beloved show.

The star appeared in the BBC crime drama from 2021 when he joined season 10 in the role of Officer Marlon Pryce.

After much speculation, the character left the show earlier this month as he flew to Jamaica to care for his sick sister, leaving fans devastated.

However, he has since revealed he will be releasing a project of his own, titled Crosshatch, which he has written and directed himself.

Sharing a selection of stills, which appear to be from Crosshatch, on his Instagram page, he wrote: "Crosshatch. Coming soon." Stars involved include Gogglebox's Monique Walker, Everyone Alive Wants Answers' Tyreke Leslie and actor Isaac O'Connor-Adekoya. It will be produced by Triple Four Productions.

Miles shocked fans with his departure from Death In Paradise, addressing the news on Instagram with a simple message alongside a snap of him on set. "It’s been real people, Marlon out," he wrote, with a love heart emoji.

It comes as co-star Ralf Little has also announced his departure from the show. The Royle Family actor joined the show in 2020 as DI Neville Parker, with his final episode seeing him sail off into the sunset with DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert).

Addressing his exit in a statement, he said: "My time on Saint Marie has come to an end – what an end! New adventures await Neville, and he got to sail away into the sunset with his best friend. Who knows what happens for them next!

"I want to say an enormous thank you to everyone who watched and supported the show when I arrived four and a half years ago. Coming into a series beloved by millions was a huge responsibility and I had no idea whether viewers would take to my interpretation of Neville's character, and indeed to me.

"It was quite a relief that the response has been overwhelming, and it's been an absolute privilege and a pleasure to bring Neville Parker to all of you and to share his quite profound journey with you. I can't thank you all enough for the support over the last four and a half years."

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
