Demi Moore has released a statement saying that she’s shocked after a man was found dead at the bottom of her swimming pool.

The Los Angeles Police Department have said Demi, 52, was NOT present at the time, nor were her family. The man was not a relative.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that it seems the man may have slipped and fell in the pool, accidentally drowning as he did not know how to swim. No foul play is suspected.

It’s claimed the victim was invited to a party at the home, which was organised by the actress’s caretaker, with five people present on the night. There was, allegedly, a “limited amount” of alcohol.

The caretaker reportedly found the man at the bottom of the pool after returning from a trip out with others from the party. Police were called to the scene at 5.15am, to find the man being treated by paramedics.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, Demi said: “I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news.

“The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends.

“I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time.”

One of Demi’s neighbours has claimed to TMZ that her children have been throwing "parties every day, day and night” at the house for weeks.

LAPD Sergeant Barry Montgomery called the incident a “tragic accident.”
