From Good Housekeeping

Call The Midwife's penultimate season nine episode was full of tension, given it's become apparent Dr McNulty is struggling with a prescription drug addiction, Nurse Crane is finding it hard to deal with her many commitments and Nurse Dyer's grandmother in prison is suffering with ill health.

It wasn't just the Nonnatus House staff having a hard time in episode seven, it was the local families, too.

We were introduced to one woman who was trying to navigate labour and being a new mum while dealing with an abusive, alcoholic husband. Elsewhere, a young blind woman had to fight to keep her new baby amid fears from her sceptical family and social services that she wouldn't be able to cope.

Thankfully for her, she had a very supportive husband, and fans of Channel 4's Derry Girls will recognise the actor playing him.

New dad Stewart in real life is Dylan Llewellyn, who many TV viewers will know as Derry Girls' James.

On social media, Dylan said it had been a pleasure joining the Call The Midwife cast as a guest star.

"My Call the midwife episode is on in in a min... was such a pleasure to work the amazingly talented cast and crew," he said.

With the help of Nurse Trixie, Stewart and his wife learned the ropes of being new parents and accepted the help they'd need to keep their daughter with them.

Dr Turner actor Stephen McGann, who's married to the show's creator Heidi Thomas, was clearly impressed with Dylan's performance and has said he wants more Derry Girls stars to appear on Call The Midwife.

"Personal revelation involving tonight's episode of #callthemidwife. I was a huge great big fanboy when [Dylan] from #derrygirls walked onto set, and now I would like the entire cast to come into the show please?" he wrote.

Who knows, maybe we'll see a Derry Girls x Call The Midwife cross-over coming in the future?
