Details of Foyle Hospice Female Walk/Run confirmed for 2024

Details of the iconic Foyle Hospice Female Walk/Run for 2024 have been confirmed by the Derry-based end-of-life care charity.

The annual event, which first started in 1983, is set to go ahead this year on June 9.

The Annual Female Walk raises vital funds for Foyle Hospice which offers specialist palliative care through its Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy and ICC Clinic, Home Care Team and Bereavement Counselling Services.

A spokesperson for the charity said: "Signing up for this year’s Female Walk/Run is more exciting than ever as participants will automatically be entered into a draw to win two round-trip tickets, donated by event sponsors, Loganair."

Director Sheila Duffy said: “We are delighted for the wonderful support from Loganair this year, a lovely treat for our entrees who make such a difference to our Hospice all year round.

"Their support is vital as it helps ensure we can continue to care for patients and their families.

“We are very excited to welcome Bperfect Cosmetics, onboard as sponsors too this year along with Ebrington Hotel, D Cooley Jewellers, Hetherington Painting, Building Contractors and Seagate who we can always count on for our Female Walk/Run."

She added: “If you haven’t registered for the Female Walk yet, you can enter on our website or call into our Fundraising Office where our staff will be happy to accommodate you. All participants will receive a goodie bag along with a collectible t-shirt, a very sought-after item with many ladies cherishing them as a souvenir year after year.

“You can also register on the day of the walk if you wish – so come on ladies, grab your mothers, sisters, grandmothers, children and get involved this year! It will be a brilliant day of fun while supporting your local hospice.”

The 5K Female Walk will begin at 11.30am on Sunday 9th June, starting from the Catalyst Building, Bay Road and finishing at St Columb’s Park.
