Manchester United will launch their new home kit on July 1 with a new sponsor that will enhance their FFP concerns thanks to a record deal.

The away and third kits for the 2024/25 season are likely to be released later in July and potentially August.

Some Premier League clubs - including Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal - officially released their new home kits for next season in May, with the shirts available to buy in time for the final weekend of the season.

United, however, had to wait on and confirmed on Monday that the new kit will be revealed on July 1. Various leaks of the new Adidas design have done the rounds over the summer with a new front-of-shirt sponsor but all three shirts are only likely to be unveiled later in the summer. That is because the club have a new shirt sponsorship deal in place with Snapdragon, but the record £60million-a-year deal only comes into force on July 1.

United agreed a new £900million 10-year deal with Adidas last July for the German manufacturer to continue making the kits, but Snapdragon will replace TeamViewer as the primary sponsor for next season.

Although the kits can only be launched once the Snapdragon deal starts, it is not unusual for United to launch their shirts later into the summer. Last season the home kit was launched on June 27, the away kit on July 24 and the third kit on August 8.

United revealed that the new home kit will be first worn in a match just a fortnight after its release date, when Erik ten Hag's men take on Norwegian club Rosenborg in Trondheim. Last season, Marcus Rashford was the player name chosen most often to be printed on the back of a men's shirt, followed by Alejandro Garnacho and then Bruno Fernandes.

The trio look likely to remain at Old Trafford for the coming season, although Rashford and Fernandes' futures have been the subject of much speculation already this summer. The publicity shots for a new strip are always instructive when looking at which players are used.

At least one of the new kits is expected to be launched on the club's pre-season tour of the United States and it could be centred around their return to San Diego and a friendly with Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium on July 31. The tech firm's parent company Qualcomm is headquartered in the Californian city.

United haven't disclosed the length of the deal with Snapdragon but the contract is an improvement on the £47million-a-year deal with TeamViewer despite the club's ongoing struggles on the pitch.

The German firm had agreed a five-year deal worth £235million but came under pressure in the pandemic to end the arrangement after shareholders accused the company of "appalling judgement."

Qualcomm became a global partner with United last July and their decision to now expand that relationship, alongside a second successive pre-season visit to San Diego, suggests a strong relationship.
