Diamond man to stand trial in alleged rape of minor

Apr. 1—NEOSHO, Mo. — A judge ordered a Diamond man bound over for trial at the conclusion of a preliminary hearing Monday in Newton County Circuit Court.

Joseph D. Magrum, 37, is charged with first-degree rape of a 15-year-old girl on or about March 1 of last year. Judge Jacob Skouby decided at the conclusion of the hearing that there was probable cause for Magrum to stand trial.

The charge was filed after the girl disclosed during a forensic interview July 6 that Magrum sexually assaulted her a few months previously inside a truck parked outside her home.

No date had been set by the close of court hours Monday for Magrum's initial appearance in a trial division.
