One Direction are the biggest boyband on the planet but it seems the ambitions of the X Factor hotties doesn't end there as the singers are aiming to get ever more fans, alien shaped ones.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers, who are set to release their second album later this autumn, reckon that they are so out of this world, they could easily be a smash hit in space as well with Niall hoping that in 10 years time they will be the biggest act in the universe not just the world.

"I think our goal for 10 years down the line should be to sell a single in outer space and be the first band to do so," Niall told British newspaper The Sun.

"I want aliens to buy our music. It is worth a shot and is obtainable."

Working out how they could maybe become alien stars the Irish cutie added: "We should speak to that band 30 Seconds to Mars - they could probably help us.”

Based on how the boys have shot to fame in less than a year since they released their first album Up All Night we wouldn't be surprised if they did become an alien success.

In 10 years as well, band super stud Harry Styles will probably have run out of women to hit on, so will be looking for fresh, alien meat!
