Have you ever thought what your favourite Disney characters would be like in 2017?

Well, one UK-based graphic designer (and let's face it, pure genius) has reimagined classic Disney characters in today's world.

Tom Ward's clever interpretations reveal the sad reality of modern-day society – showing Prince Charming to not actually be all that charming, Baloo the bear forced into captivity, and the seaweed not always being greener when the water's contaminated by pollution.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: "I wanted to bring to life the times we live in and communicate topical issues in a relatable way.

"Disney characters are so iconic that I thought transporting them to our modern world could help us see it through new eyes. I always appreciate visuals that feel familiar but say something new."

And Tom admitted that he has favourites in the series – starting with the only real positive image, of Beauty and the Beast's Gaston and LeFou out and proud.

"I like the joy in Gaston and LeFou at gay pride," he said. "This was the most recent idea to take shape following the Beauty and the Beast live action movie release."

He added: "I also admire the solemnity of Tigger, Simba and Shere Khan in the circus.

"However, if I was forced to choose, I think my favourites are the simplicity of the mobile phone-related images – Pinocchio, Cinderella and Arthur from The Sword in the Stone. The message is that we are all slightly obsessed."
