As all good Time Lords should, Doctor Who and the gang are swapping deep space for a trip to the Pyramids in this week's upcoming episode 'The Pyramid at the End of the World'.

In the seventh episode of series 10, The Doctor (Peter Capaldi), Bill (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas) will find themselves in the midst of yet another battle as they visit a 5,000 year-old pyramid.

The Daniel Nettheim-directed episode features an ancient pyramid at the centre of it, which stands in the middle of a war zone between the Chinese, Russian and American armies.

According to the official synopsis, the most intriguing thing about the pyramid is not its age or its involvement in war – it's the fact that there wasn't a pyramid there yesterday. Bit weird.

'The Pyramid at the End of the World' follows on from Saturday's (May 20) somewhat confusing 'Extremis', which saw the Doctor enter the Whovian equivalent of the Matrix and the long-awaited return of Missy (Michelle Gomez).

Despite uncovering the series-long mystery behind the vault, viewers at homeand us at Digital Spy – couldn't help but feel a little disappointed by the ambitious outing.
