Does the new Stranger Things teaser photo contain a spoiler?

It's been almost two years since Stranger Things season four was released, and Netflix have *finally* confirmed that season five is in production. Wahoo! But after sharing the news with a full cast photo, fans think they might've accidentally revealed a spoiler about the new episodes.

For the fifth and final time, Stranger Things fans are heading back to Hawkins to see how Eleven's story ends. Set in 1980s Indiana, the last four seasons have delved into the alternate dimension of the Upside Down, as the likes of Hopper and the Byers fight off the mysterious forces trying to engulf them.

Due to the SAG-Aftra strikes, production has been put on hold, but finally, Stranger Things is back in action. Announcing the news with a full cast photo gathered underneath a neon red '5', they wrote, "THIS IS A CODE RED STRANGER THINGS 5 production has officially begun!!!"

In amongst Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer and Millie Bobby Brown, fans have also noticed Sadie Sink is photographed with the rest of the Stranger Things gang - which possibly gives away a spoiler about the season four cliffhanger.

As fans will remember, the fate of Sadie's character Max Mayfield is left up in the air, after she is attached by Vecna in The Void. She eventually ends up in hospital in a coma, and it's made clear that she might never wake up.

Her presence hasn't gone unnoticed by fans. " First of all, SADIE!!!! TELL. US. HOW. MAX. IS. PLZ." one person wrote, while another put, "Aaaaaaaa Stranger Things S5!!! Sadie Sinkkkkkk."

Someone else said, "SADIE SINK IS CONFIRMED IN THE LAST SEASON OF STRANGER THINGS" and "Is Max alive?" and "So that means... Max is still alive?"

In fact, Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers actually previously confirmed Max would still be alive, telling Vulture, "she is braindead and blind and all of her bones are broken." One of them continued to Netflix, "I can't really get into the details but it is important that she is [in a coma]. And that is going to have a major effect on 5. It's not a 'cheat', it's incredibly relevant to 5."

Intriguing.
