A brave dog who had a leg amputated after an unsuccessful operation is looking for a forever home in Norfolk.

Zoe was a "ball of terror" when volunteers from Safe Rescue for Dogs, based in Wymondham, first met her at a public shelter in Romania a year ago.

The two-year-old Pomeranian cross was hobbling around the kennel on three legs as the fourth was broken.

When the charity returned to the shelter six months later, they found she had a twisted leg after an operation to fix the broken limb failed.

It was agreed that the pooch would have the leg removed and then travel over to Norfolk for a bit of rehab before being put up for adoption.

After a timid start, the Pomeranian cross can now hold her own in rough-and-tumble pack play and loves interacting with other dogs.

Due to her traumatic past, Zoe takes a while to come out of her shell when meeting new people but her “plucky character” emerges once she feels comfortable.

Zoe would be at her best with at least one other dog in her new home and would prefer not to live with children.

Anyone interested in giving Zoe the love and care she deserves should contact Safe Rescue for Dogs.
