A rescued British bulldog who “greets everyone with her bum wiggle” is struggling to find a new home.

Fenland’s Ravenswood Pet Rescue has been looking after two-year-old Bessie since she came to them earlier in the spring.

She was among 19 dogs and three cats rescued as part of a joint operation between police, Fenland District Council and other organisations.

The animals that could be rehomed are now settling with their new families - but sweet-natured Bessie is still looking for hers.

“We feel so sad that she hasn’t found her forever home yet and can’t understand why she's still with us.

“Hopefully the right family is just around the corner.”

Bessie’s colour is known as merle, which is rare and means she has mottled patches on her coat. She is a heavy girl at around 22 kgs.

She can be around other dogs and could live with a neutered male dog of similar of larger in size.

Bessie can be a bit grumpy around little dogs who get too close to her personal space.

She could fit in great with a family with older children aged five and above.

Bessie is spayed, chipped and has had her first vaccination.

More details about Bessie are available on the Ravenswood Pet Rescue website.
