Dog gatecrashes orchestra performance - and steals the show

This is the moment a limelight-loving dog strolled onto the stage during an orchestra performance in Turkey – and stole the show.

The pooch, believed to be a stray, made himself the star during the International İzmir Festival in the city of Ephesus.

The Vienna Chamber Orchestra was in the middle of performing Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony No.4 as the dog made its entrance, calmly padding across the stage.

The audience reacted with delight, gifting the animal a round of applause – but he didn’t let it go to his head.

Seeming oblivious to the laughter and cheers he was receiving, the bored-looking pooch had a sniff of a violinist before gently easing himself into a sitting position front and centre.

The hound then settled down to enjoy the show from his prime position.

Taking in the view of his adoring audience, the dog appeared unfased, yawning widely and licking its lips.

Several musicians were forced to stifle giggles as the gatecrasher made his presence felt, but, proving themselves to be total pros, they didn’t miss a note.
