Dogs at polling stations are back for local elections

Much of the country is heading to the polls today to vote in local and mayoral elections.

And while it is against the law to take pictures of voting cards, taking pictures of dogs is always encouraged.

Pooches are not actually allowed inside the building so they have to be tied up while their owner votes.

And of course, with so many pets waiting outside, a #DogsAtPollingStations hashtag quickly emerged.

While the results of the council elections – which are set to bring more misery for Jeremy Corbyn with heavy losses predicted for Labour -aren’t announced tomorrow, we can already bring you the best doggy pics of the day…
