Donald Trump’s bizarre behaviour with world leaders: From brushing away Emmanuel Macron's dandruff to grasping Theresa May’s hand

Donald Trump’s recent meeting with Emmanuel Macron was the latest in a long series of bizarre interactions with world leaders.

From grasping Theresa May's hand and refusing to shake Angela Merkel's to shoving Montenegro's Prime Minister out of the way, Mr Trump has hit headlines with his unusual greetings.

During the course of his presidency he has showcased his strong handshake in photographs from crunch meetings.

Here are some of the US President's strangest interactions with world leaders:

The vice like grip

The President has proven that he enjoys a strong handshake at numerous meetings with the world's leading men and women.

During the course of his presidency, Mr Trump has made headlines with his trademark technique.

Mr Trump and Emmanuel Macron refused to show weakness during a handshake and were forced to make peace with an awkward kiss on the cheek.

I wanna hold your hand

In what Prime Minister Theresa May described as "moment of assistance," the President held her hand during a visit to the White House.

Pictures emerged from the pair’s first meeting as they walked hand in hand down some stairs.

Mr Trump was also seen to give Mrs May a reassuring pat on the arm.

He enjoyed a similar interaction with Mr Macron last week when he led the French President by the hand away from reporters outside the White House.

Outright rejection

Mr Trump simply refused to shake Angela Merkel’s hand during a meeting with the German leader.

At a press conference, Mr Trump stared into the middle distance as reporters asked him to shake hands with Mrs Merkel.

Nit-picking

During the French leader's recent visit to the states the US President was seen brushing away dandruff from Mr Macron's suit.

Mr Trump made the move after claiming that the two had a “very special relationship.”

Mr Macron didn't comment.

The magic touch

A photo of Mr Trump, King Salman of Saudi Arabia and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt placing their hands atop a radiant glowing orb was widely mocked on social media.

Many people likened the moment to fantasy films Hocus Pocus and Lord of the Rings.

When he tried to hold Melania's hand

The President has been caught repeatedly attempting to hold his wife Melania’s hand while she appeared disinterested.

Earlier this week when the couple posed for press outside the White House alongside Mr Macron and his wife Brigitte Mr Trump was spotted wiggling his pinkie finger next to Melania’s hand as she ignored his advances.

Macron swerves Trump

President Macron appeared to swerve Mr Trump's greeting during a Nato world leaders meeting.

As the French President approached his US counterpart, Mr Trump reached out for a handshake just as Mr Macron made a bee-line for Angela Merkel.
