Donald Trump has put on a 'few pounds' and is now officially considered obese

President Donald Trump has put on four pounds since 2018 but remains in "very good health overall", according to his doctor.

However he now tips the scales at 243lbs, making him officially considered obese.

He was examined by his physician Sean Conley on Friday, with the details published by the White House.

A memo from Doctor Conley said: "After taking into account all the laboratory results, examinations and specialist recommendations, it is my determination that the president remains in very good health overall."

The memo detailed that the 6ft 3in tall 72-year-old president weighed 243 pounds, 110.2kg, up from 239 pounds, 108.4kg, in early 2018.

According to the NHS' Body Mass Index calculator, this puts him as technically obese, with a BMI of 30.2.

This suggested he should lose around 5.5kg.

His resting heart rate is 70 beats a minute and his blood pressure reading was 118 over 80.

That reading well within the normal range.

Dr Conley said President Trump's liver, kidney and thyroid functions are all normal and so are his electrolytes and blood counts.

His examination reportedly took around four hours.

The President's love for fast-food is well known and previously he notoriously served up a platter of burgers to guests at the White House, while there was no catering provision due to the partial government shutdown.
