Two men were taken to hospital following a stabbing on one of the city's busiest roads. And police believe the incident on Fenton's Victoria Road may have followed on from a house party in the area.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the Sunday morning disorder to come forward. Staffordshire Police say cops were called to the stretch, close to Stanier Street, at around 1.05am following reports of a 'stabbing'.

Meanwhile, one StokeonTrentLive reader reported spotting a 'large police presence' in the area with 'crime scene tape'. Officers say two men were found at the scene with 'single-stab wounds' and were taken to hospital by paramedics.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Their injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening. Officers believe the incident may have followed on from a house party that was taking place in the area when it happened.

"We’ve been speaking with people who were in the area at the time, looking over CCTV and carrying out enquiries to find out more about what happened."

Witnesses are asked to call the force on 101 and quote incident 40 of June 16.
