“Doubling Down with the Derricos”' Deon Derrico Says 'Nothing Else Really Matters' Besides Health and Family After Divorce

The 'Doubling Down with the Derricos' star and his ex-wife Karen Derrico previously told PEOPLE the well-being of their 14 children is their "priority" following news of their split

Deon Derrico is putting his health and family first after his divorce from Karen Derrico.

Days after news of the couple’s split, the Doubling Down with the Derricos star, 53, shared a message about what matters most to him.

“When you have nothing else in this world as long as you have your great health, and family nothing else really matters!” he shared on Instagram alongside a photo of his 14 children and mother, Marian "GG" Derrico.

Deon and Karen — who got married in 2005 — filed for divorce on June 4 and it became official two days later on June 6, when a judge signed off on the split, according to TMZ.

They are now splitting legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children, per legal documents obtained by the outlet. Deon will reportedly pay $1,166 in child support per month, and Karen will be responsible for paying the children’s medical insurance.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE following the news of their divorce, Karen and Deon said, “Together, we remain unified in the parenting of our 14 beautiful children — their well-being is our priority."

"We thank everyone for their understanding and support as we move forward for the good of our family."

The former couple are parents to Derrick, 13, 12-year-old twins Dallas and Denver, 10-year-old quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko and Dariz, 6-year-old Diez and Dior, and 4-year-old triplets Dawsyn, De'Aren and Dyver. (Oldest daughter Darian is 18 years old.)

Season 5 of the family's TLC show, which premiered in 2020, is currently airing, and sees Karen and Deon juggling their kids while also searching for a new house, which has been a "forever process and is putting a strain on Deon and Karen’s marriage," per an official synopsis.
